University of London LLB in Pakistan: Complete Guide
How the University of London LLB works in Pakistan: who awards it, how long it takes, entry routes after FA/FSc, A-Levels or a degree, fees, and the next intake.

The short answer
You can study for a University of London LLB without leaving Pakistan. The University of London awards the degree and sets and marks the exams; a Recognised Teaching Centre in Pakistan, such as Blackstone in Lahore, teaches the classes. It takes three years (two with a prior degree), students joining after FA/FSc start through the CertHE Common Law, and the next intake starts with classes at Blackstone in January 2027 (University of London deadline 1 April 2027).
Who awards it, who teaches it
The University of London awards the LLB. Its study materials are written by academics from its Laws Consortium (Birkbeck, King's College London, LSE, Queen Mary, SOAS and UCL), and its examiners set and mark the exams, which are normally held in May and October. At Blackstone, Blackstone's faculty teach the classes in Lahore. Blackstone is listed by the University of London as a Recognised Teaching Centre (see Blackstone on the University of London website).

What it costs
You pay two separate fees: Blackstone's fee in rupees for teaching in Lahore, and the University of London's fee in pounds for registration, modules and exams. On the CertHE route, Blackstone's fee is Rs 2,225,000 over three years and the University of London's fees are £6,600. The full breakdown is in the LLB fees guide and on the fee structure page.
What you study
The LLB has twelve modules. The first year covers Contract law, Criminal law, Legal system and method, and Public law. Later years include Tort law and Jurisprudence and legal theory, plus optional subjects such as Company law, Commercial law, Evidence, Public international law and Introduction to Islamic law. The compulsory and optional modules cover what the University of London calls the seven foundations of legal knowledge.
Check recognition before you enrol
Rules on which law degrees can be used to practise in Pakistan are set by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Pakistan Bar Council, and they can change. Before you enrol, confirm the current position for your intake with HEC and the Bar Council. The University of London gives the same advice: check with the regulator where you want to practise, and get the answer in writing, before you apply.

How long is the University of London LLB?
Three years on Standard Entry, and three years at Blackstone on the CertHE route after FA/FSc. Graduate Entry, for students who already hold a degree, has nine modules and can be finished in two years.
Can I join after FA or FSc?
Yes. Students with Intermediate usually start with the CertHE Common Law, the same four subjects as the first year of the LLB, and move into the LLB after passing three of its four modules. You must be 18 or older by registration.
How much does it cost?
On the CertHE route at Blackstone: Rs 2,225,000 in Blackstone fees over three years, plus £6,600 in University of London fees, paid year by year. Exam centre fees and books are extra.
When is the next intake?
Classes at Blackstone start in January 2027. You register with the University of London for its April 2027 intake: apply by 1 April 2027 and register by 30 April 2027.
Is the University of London LLB valid for practising law in Pakistan?
The rules on which law degrees can be used to practise in Pakistan are set by HEC and the Pakistan Bar Council, and they can change. Confirm the current position for your intake with them before enrolling; the University of London also advises getting written confirmation from the regulator before applying.
