Course Description: This course focuses on skills and concepts behind the physical aspects of crime scene investigation, management and evidence handling. Students/Professionals will learn terminology and investigative methods related to crime scene investigation and scientific procedures used to solve crimes. Using scientific methods, students/professionals will learn and understand several kinds of scientific evidence such as fingerprint analysis, trace evidence collection, ballistics, body fluid collection, blood spatter analysis etc. The course shall also cover enhanced/effective interrogation techniques without torturing the suspect/detainee. Our objective is to train our law enforcement officers and criminal lawyers to improve conviction rates. Unfortunately, many criminals walk away merely because of flawed investigation. The admission shall be granted to limited number of applicants. Priority shall be given to law enforcement officers, practicing criminal lawyers and final year students of law.

Mohsin Sheikh Profile

Mohsin Sheikh is an Advocate of the High Court as well as human rights activist in Pakistan. He holds an LLM from Indiana University, USA specializing in Criminal Investigation, Counter Terrorism, International Human Rights and International Criminal Law. Apart from LLM and LLB he has done Masters in Criminology and Security Studies supplemented with several Post Graduation Diplomas covering criminal investigation, forensic evidence, crime scene management, ballistics, death scene investigation, rape assault investigation etc. He has expertise in Criminal Trial, Criminal Investigation, International Criminal Law, International Human Rights, Constitutional Law, Anti-Terrorism Act, Financial as well as Cyber-crimes. Mr. Sheikh has also worked on an Extradition Case between Russia and USA during his stay in United States. He provided legal assistance in research, drafting and litigating the case in Thailand.

In the past Mr. Sheikh has worked as an associate with Abdullah Usman who has joined judiciary as an ADSJ. Recently, Mr. Sheikh has joined HCU & Hossein Legal Consultants. He is working with Shahid Shaukat, an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan who handles criminal cases at High Court and Supreme Court Level. Mr. Sheikh has also worked as an intern in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Pakistan. He has deeply observed the department of FIA and how it operates and litigate in throughout Pakistan.

With the exception of Litigation and legal research, Mr. Sheikh is adjunct faculty member University of the Punjab. He teaches Criminal Investigation and Organized Crime and Money Laundering to MSC Criminology & Security Studies. He has reformed and redesigned various modules of Criminology to match international standards. Moreover, he has also trained, assisted and guided several professionals from law enforcement agencies such as Army, Police, FIA, IB etc. as his students among professional lawyers and fresh grads. By mutual efforts with students, several articles of students also got published in a paper. 

Similarly, Mr. Sheikh also writes in a local newspaper Daily Parliament Times on various national and international issues. Few among his published articles are Kashmir Conflict Scorns United Nations, Dignity-Enshrined but Restricted, Flawed Investigation; An Impediment to Criminal Justice, Anticipated Religious Lockdown Ahead, Pakistan’s Efforts Repudiated by FATF, Food Adulteration Seeks Attention, Coronavirus as a tool of Biological Warfare among US and China, etc. In short, Mr. Sheikh is an aspiring technocrat who is working hard for a better, brighter and crime free Pakistan.
